What is mental health?

People often discuss mental illness with stigmas attached, but has anyone ever asked what mental wellness means? What is mental health? Mental health refers to our cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. This is all about how we think, feel, and behave. Mental health should be promoted always, not only during crisis situations.
To feel your best your mental health should be at its peak. Just as you would expect your body to feel its best when you treat it nicely with sleep, good foods, and exercise, your mental health is as its best when you are treating yourself well. This means realizing your own abilities, coping with normal life stressors, and being able to work productively. If you need to seek assistance to feel better, than do so!! The World Health Organization stresses that mental health is not simply the absence of a mental disorder.
